Brief Introduction of Neurorehabilitation Department

The neurorehabilitation department of CRRC provides treatment and rehabilitation for acute and convalescent patients with hemiplegia,combined with research and education in this field.There are 90 beds(37 of them are single-bed units) in the department, and about 300 in-patients were treated annually. It is also an important department of CRRC,staffed with individuals who have both clinical and research expertise,including 4 consultant doctors,4 vice-consultant docors,2 attending doctors and 4 residant doctors,among of them, 2 professors and 1 associated professor. A PT room ,a OT room and a neuro-electrophysiology room are affiliated to the department.Besides the routine PT and OT treatment, the department also carried out an array of innovative techniques for patients: the Constraint-Induced movement therapy to improve the function of upper extremities of patients,the training for the patients with dysphagia,BTX-A to relieve the spasm of muscle after head injury ,Weight Support Gait Training to improve the walk function after stroke,and comprehensive rehabilitation care to help patients to improve ADL and quality of life.The effective ratio of rehabilitation reached more than 90%.In the future,all the members in our department will continue to provide better service for patients.
